Swedish for beginners

This year in January, OutdoorLingua in cooperation with Wilderness Village Solberget, offers a week´s course in Swedish for beginners. This course will provide you with the basics of the Swedish language. It is a great kick-off for those who wish to learn Swedish in the future, or a taster for those who are simply interested in the language and maybe want to be able to communicate a bit in Swedish during holidays in Scandinavia.

OutdoorLingua´s courses are combined experiences. They will give you an intensive course in Swedish, as well as a genuine insight into local nature and culture. During skiing tours in the forests, we take time to explore the surroundings where you will learn a lot about the wildlife in the winter. We will also visit Jokkmokk and the Sami museum, meet the locals and taste special culinarities of North Sweden.

We study the language indoors and outdoors, through theory classes in the evenings, and through lots of practice during skiing tours and other excursions in the daytime. Swedish language practice is involved in all our activities, from the meals, to feeding the reindeers that live in the Wilderness Village. You will be equipped with a list of words and basic grammar, related to all our planned activities. In this way, you have a real chance to quickly start speaking the language, while having a lot of fun in the meantime!

OutdoorLingua works with small groups, of 5-10 students. This means that each student can get a lot of personal tutoring during the course, and there will be lots of time for direct practice with the teacher, as well as with other students.

  • Accomodation and supper, partly from ecological farms, at Wilderness Village Solberget: 225€
  • Tutoring and course program with OutdoorLingua: 550€

Food and accommodation in Solberget

  • We live in cosy, rustic wooden houses. The houses lack electricity and are heated with wood fired stoves and lighted with candles and paraffin lamps.
  • Hot supper with Swedish specialities, partly from ecological farms. The guests are requested to help us with the dishes after our meals.
  • Vegetarian food can be arranged upon request.
