The journey takes you to Stockholm by train or plane. From thereon you may take the night-train to Nattavaara with a change in Boden. You will arrive in Nattavaara around 1pm. You could also take the plane to Lappland. Please contact us before so we can arrange a pickup.
We will pick you up in Nattavaara at the train station for the last part of your trip to Solberget. We will go trough deep forest on a snow-covered gravel road (22 km).
A warm welcome by Dirk and his staff awaits you once in Solberget. Over a salmon snack the rooms will be assigned. After that the sauna may be prepared: getting water from the well to fill up the sauna, chop wood and light the fire. After the joined dinner you may wish to relax in the Solberget special sauna.
You will have the chance help feeding the reindeer and inform yourselves about these typical animals. We will go on the reindeer-sledge tour afterwards. You will enjoy the white winter beauty of Swedish Lappland. If lucky, you may discover animals like a capercaillie.
The evening is for your leisure.
Discover the fantastic winter-world with snow-shoes!
Are you looking for something special? Then choose this tour. Snow-shoe hiking is an old and traditional way to walk across snow. This is an adventure for the whole family. With a small backpack we will take an easy tour through the snow covered landscape. During the whole tour, the dogs will transport our luggage so you will only have to carry a little day-pack.
It is easy to learn to walk with snowshoes. Everyone can learn this. You do not need any previous knowledge but once tried you will enjoy the pleasure and ease to walk over the snow.
In the morning, you will take the car to Jokkmokk where your guide for the next days already awaits you. You will discover the snow-covered forests north of the polar circle on a two-day hike with snow shoes. Due to unpredictable snow-conditions it is not possible to decide on an exact tour in advance.
With our snow-shoes we will walk through the snow-covered landscape far into the forest away from civilization. The hike will take us from Jokkmokk into the wilderness to a small wooden cabin or a kota (Sami tent with a fireplace) where we will spend the night.
After a day’s hike, the Siberian huskies dogs already await us while dinner is ready in the evening. After a short tour with the dog-sledge we will take care of the dogs and then we will enjoy the evening in midst of the peaceful forest at the camp-fire.
After a good night rest we will turn back to Jokkmokk. Around 2 pm we will arrive in Jokkmokk. In the afternoon you may do some sight-seeing on your own in Jokkmokk. The night you will spend in the youth-hostel or a small cabin.
In the morning you may visit the Sami-museum in Jokkmokk. This museum is the central place for Sami-tradition and culture. The displays show very nicely how the Sami lived and still live here in the far north. In the afternoon, you may also take a tour with the dog-sledge (optional) – this is faster than walking with snow-shoes.
In the afternoon you will take the car back to Solberget. In the evening you may take to your free disposal. After dinner we will relax in the sauna.
We will spend the whole day discovering the surroundings of Solberget with the ski. Either we will go to a abandoned farm, a forest reserve or to the Solberg, our local mountain. On top of the Solberg is a small hut where we will take a small warm snack and enjoy the view from our look-out tower. In the evenings there will a sauna.
After breakfast you may go an a small ski-tour on your own. In the afternoon it is already time to say goodbye

The train trip from Stockholm is about 20-200€ per person. We are happy to help with the booking. The tour starts at 2pm on the day of arrival in Solberget. The tour ends on the last day at 3 pm. Rooms are available from 2 pm on the day of arrival and until 1 pm on the day of departure. If you arrive earlier or leave later our guests may use the guest-house kitchen (the common-room). On the day of arrival we will show you around Solberget (compulsory).
Minimum 2 persons
No guide will be available in Jokkmokk. Dinner on day 4 and breakfast on day 5 (the night in Jokkmokk) are not included in the price.
